Hey there. I’m Ann Marie – mid-30s (eek) married, mother of 3 and your guide to fitness tip for real moms on the go.
Let me take you through the Cliff Notes version of the last 20 years of my life.
I was lucky enough to find my now husband, Casey, at age 15 during my sophomore year of high school. Yes, total high school sweet heart couple here. He’s pretty incredible and we’re the best Yin and Yang balance I’ve ever seen.
We were married in 2004 and soon after had our first child, Sam in 2006. Sam is an intelligent, gentle hearted traditionalist. He’s a video game wizard and has a growing love of sports.
About 16 months after Sam, our second child Gabbi graced the Earth with her presence. I swear I don’t remember her as a toddler because Sam required so much attention. I truly feel like she’s been walking and talking since the day she was born. She was the easy child. Totally independent and full of sass. Loves to dance, watch girly movies, shop, get her nails done – she’s a ton of fun!
And then we waited…(insert out-of-state move and all sorts of details that are too long for a bio) and along came Eli in 2012. This kid has given us a run for our money. Had he been the first, he’d be an only child, no doubt. Cute as hell but a complete and utter crazy pants. God help us thought these toddler years.
Professionally my background is in public relations but in 2014 I followed my dream of pursuing a fitness career. I grew up as a dancer and dreamed of performing the moon walk side by side with Michael Jackson but life didn’t head in that direction for me…at all, not even close.
It wasn’t until the summer of 2014 that the stars aligned and an opportunity presented itself when I really wasn’t looking. It was an incredible moment. I’m now an instructor at a studio in Rochester Hills where I teach barre, HIIT and soon TRX. I have the pleasure of helping my clients achieve their personal goals every day. I watch women grow in self-confidence and self-esteem daily. I’m truly blessed to have one of those careers that never feels like a job. I actually make a difference in people lives.
The Confessions of a Real Mom has awarded me the honor of sharing my journey and how I move through day-to-day chaos while still having time to focus on my supportive family, my clients and myself. If anything comes out of this, I hope to encourage you too, by incorporating small, daily changes to a better YOU!
P.S. I promise not to omit the wine.
